Do I qualify to open an International Account?

You may apply for an international account if you are not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, do not have a Social Security Number or Tax-ID Number, and do not live in an unauthorized country*.

Steps to Open an International Account.

1. Complete the Application Process
To apply for an international account with Kensington Capital Corp., please complete our Online Application, which will assist you in completing the Account Application These original documents must be signed and mailed to Kensington Capital Corp.

2. You must also complete a W-8 BEN form
This is the form required by the Internal Revenue Service for non-U.S. residents.

3. Other Required Documents
Please submit with your application a photocopy of your valid passport. The photocopy must show your photograph, personal information, and signature. If you do not have a valid passport, you can submit a photocopy of a government issued identification.

Kensington Capital Corp. reserves the right to determine the validity of the identification.

If you wish to use a U.S. mailing address for your account, you must show proof of residency in the foreign country. Please submit a copy of a bank statement, rent receipt, utility bill, or government issued identification which shows your address in your country of residence.

4. Funding your new Kensington Capital Corp. account.
Kensington Capital Corp. recommends international accounts to use wire transfers, it is a safer and faster way to fund your new brokerage account. Wires are to be sent to our clearing agent First Southwest Company and the bank they use. Your wired funds will be deposited into your Kensington Capital Corp. account by giving your financial institution the following instructions:

Please note: When wiring funds from your bank into your Kensington Capital Corp. account, the wire must include your Kensington Capital Corp. account number and account name. If your account number and name are not on the wire, Kensington Capital Corp cannot accept the wire.

* We currently do not accept applications from Balkans, Burma, Canada, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Liberia, Libya, Nigeria, North Korea, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Syria and Zimbabwe.
